The story of Tomé Supply begins not in the rush of commerce but in the slow, golden hours of my childhood in New Mexico. The land here is steeped in generations of Hispanic ancestry indigenous wisdom, a tapestry woven with centuries of resilience and beauty. My own roots anchor deep in this soil, going back to the small town of Tomé, where my grandfather was born. This is where my story—and this brand—truly begins.
My fondest memories are bathed in the gentle light of New Mexico’s evenings. I remember going fishing at dawn, the stillness of the lakes broken only by the soft ripple of water. I remember the scent of piñon wood and cedar in the campfire as we sat beneath a sky so vast, it felt like it held our entire history. My grandfather, with calloused hands and a humble yet experienced wisdom, showed me how the land could provide. And alongside these experiences, I grew fascinated by aesthetics. As a kid, I may not have known the word, but I felt it. The shape of a well-crafted tool, the colors in the landscape, clothing that drew the lookers eye, the patterns of everyday objects. Whether we were in the garden, hunting in the brush, or just admiring the world as it was—there was always a quiet reverence for both function and form.
I came to understand that this reverence was not only for the land, but also for the people and the timeless lessons they passed on—the lessons of living with intention and honoring the world around us. Lessons accumulated not only through the land but through generations of people who lived with intention. My heritage taught me that beauty could be found in the worn handle of a tool passed down or the pattern of light cast on an adobe wall. This cultural tapestry gave me an eye for what endures.
In adulthood, I set off to explore. In Denver, the mountains became my escape—fly fishing in cold streams, the thrill of snowboarding down powder-covered slopes. Houston, Boston, New York—they all left their imprint. In Boston, I found the rhythm of the water again on the Charles River, this time in a kayak and on a sailboat. And New York City awakened a deep appreciation for fashion, photography, and art. When the rhythm of the city got too loud, I discovered that escaping to the quiet cabins of upstate New York with my wife was where I found balance. Together, we would retreat to those peaceful woods, where nature spoke in whispers and reminded me of home.
As I ventured across the globe during my earlier years, each culture left a unique impression on me—the simplicity of Japanese minimalism, the warmth of Mediterranean craftsmanship, and the bold artistry of places like Morocco. Each taught me that form and function are universal, yet uniquely expressed. I returned home with these inspirations—especially the Japanese admiration for clean lines and purposeful living. I wanted to weave them into Tomé Supply, where the heritage of my ancestors meets the thoughtful simplicity I found abroad.
Each of these places shaped me. And in each place, I carried with me a growing love for the marriage of aesthetics and utility. Whether it was the elegance of a well-made jacket or the simple lines of a sturdy tool, I found that form and function could coexist beautifully.
When my wife and I returned to Albuquerque in 2024, it wasn’t just a homecoming. It was a promise—to bring back the inspirations gathered from my experiences, near and far. Tomé Supply is my offering to my community: a celebration of where I’ve been, what I cherish, and what I believe in—minimalism, quality, and a deep connection to our roots. Through the brand, I want to bring elevated, minimalist living to those around me. I hope to curate products that balance utility and beauty and has purpose around the home or on your adventures. And I’m committed to giving back—supporting the home that shaped me, and elevating my community by sharing tradition and intentional living.
